The movie shows the estate of Compton-Anstey in 1694 and it is an interesting way of looking at a landscape garden to see all its particular elements.

The movie is the representation of Burnett's novel. The main theme regarding gardens is the contrast between the walled garden (that is the place in wich the protagonists spend most of their time) and the landscape park.

The movie shows the Petit Trianon e the Hemau in Versailles, that is the most naturalistic part of the park.

 The locations used for this movie are Flintham Hall in Nottinghamshire, Englefield House in Berkshire and Wimpole Hall in Cambridgeshire.

The movie is about the building of the gardens of Versailles.
